THE PESACH PARSHAS:

NEW CLASS WITH RABBI GRUSSGOTT

Each Wednesday night before Pesach (3/15, 3/22, 3/29, and 4/5), at 8pm in the CRO social hall; Rabbi Grussgott will give a 4 part series on:

"The Pesach Parshas"

An in-depth analysis of the first four parshiot of sefer Shemot, cross-referenced with the Haggadah.

In this class, we will explore the first 4 Torah portions in sefer Shemot: Parshiot Shemot, Va'era, Bo and Beshalach, as filtered through the lens of the Haggadah. We will examine how the rabbis chose selectively to reference the Exodus story in the hagaddah, exploring their motivations, with its implications for how we experience the observance of Pesach today.

Chametz treats will be offered at all classes! To RSVP for any or all of the classes, or to sponsor or bring the chametz, please contact rabbig@ramathorah.org

MAOT CHITIM

From Rabbi Grussgott:

There is a universal Jewish custom, first mentioned in the Talmud Yerushalmi, and codified by the Shulchan Aruch, to give Maot Chitim ("Wheat Money") to the poor before Pesach. This was done originally in order to help enable the poor to purchase matzah for the seder, but now it can be given to the poor for any of their Pesach needs. We all know how expensive Pesach can be, even for middle class families. Let's try and be mindful of those less fortunate.

I am collecting for specific families and individuals in need of help to purchase their basic groceries for Pesach. To donate, you can bring a check to me personally at the above specified chametz sale times; or, to give online go to https://www.ramathorah.org/payment.php. For "type" of payment under "payment details" select "maot chitin"

HOSTING AND GUESTING

More hosts needed! If you can host people for a seder or for other pesach meals, or if you'd like to be a guest at someone else's seder or other pesach meal, please contact metu@ramathorah.org
