We are excited to announce that our next book club meeting will discuss a book and a film based on the book together with the Ramath Orah’ Reel Encounters group. The book will be “My Quarrel with Hersh Rasseyner” (English and Yiddish Edition) by Chaim Grade, translation and introduction by Ruth Wisse (You can purchase it on Amazon here.) The film will be “The Quarrel” (1991). 
 
The book and movie tell the story of two estranged friends – one a rabbi and the other an agnostic Yiddish writer— who are reunited in a chance encounter after the Holocaust and resume an argument that caused a rift many years earlier. Professor David Fishman, who had a close personal relationship with author Chaim Grade and is an expert in his work, will lead a discussion of the book, while Rabbi Joseph Telushkin, who co-wrote the script of the film, will discuss the adaptation of the book into the film.
