Post Passover Shopping
1. The following establishments are owned by non-Jews and therefore have no post-Passover issues. Chametz can be purchased there immediately:
7 Eleven, A & P, Associated, BJ’s Wholesale Club, Costco, CVS, D’Agostino, Duane Reade, Food Emporium, Gristedes,Key Food, Pathmark, Rite Aid, Sam’s Club, Target, Trader Joe’s, Waldbaum’s, Walgreen’s, Walmart, Westside Market, Whole Foods
2. Barzini’s, Fairway, and Fresh Direct have Jewish ownership and their chametz was sold, but they remained open on Passover. Please ask Rabbi Grussgott for guidance on these establishments.
3. Food City, Essentials, and Zabar's have Jewish ownership and management, but DID NOT sell their chametz during Passover. Follow the wait period listed:
a) Wait 1 week to purchase bread: 4/19/15
b) Wait 2 weeks to purchase cereals: 4/26/15
c) Wait 3 weeks to purchase cakes, cookies, pasta: 5/3/15
