The Manhattan Yoetzet Halacha Initiative
Thank you for generously donating to the Manhattan Yoetzet Halacha Initiative!
Some background on the program:
Here in Manhattan, we are fortunate to have two wonderful Nishmat trained Yoatzot Halacha. The Manhattan Yoetzet Halacha Initiative, which was instituted in 2014, currently funds these two Yoatzot who are available to women of the Upper East and Upper West Side for halachic guidance on: taharat hamishpacha, mikveh immersion, pregnancy and childbirth, postpartum and breastfeeding, gynecological procedures, fertility, menopause, family planning, cancer treatment, mikveh-related issues, and marital intimacy.
The two Yoazot receive calls and emails on a daily basis and fill an immediate need in our communities, speak at community events, and also serve as important examples of female leaders in the Orthodox community at large and their potential to advise on halachic issues.
The majority of the funding comes from Lincoln Square Synagogue, Congregation Shearith Israel, West Side Institutional Synagogue, Fifth Avenue Synagogue, The Jewish Center, Congregation Ramath Orah, Kehilat Rayim Ahuvim, Kehilath, Jeshurun, in addition to private donors.
